Pure Elegance Dress Marvelous Designer (updated) by soup-sammich Pure Elegance Dress Marvelous Designer (updated) by soup-sammich
update: I've been informed that the triangle polys in this item do not play well with Blender.  I've updated the file to include a quad poly version as well.  It is named to identify it from the triangle poly .obj.

edit: Title updated for clarity

For anyone who downloads the file:

Contents are: PureEleganceDress.mtl, PureEleganceDress.obj, PureEleganceDress.png, PureEleganceDress.zpac, PureEleganceDress_0.mtl

Here are some of the basics:
1. This is just the dress.  No shoes, no girl.
--1.a. Just the dress.  Yup, that hasn't changed...
2. It only has the default .mtl texture that Marvelous Designer exports with the files.  You're on your own for the texturing...
3. If you have Marvelous Designer, just download, unzip, and open the .zpac.
4. If you don't have Marvelous Designer, feel free to use the included .obj to make rigged/dynamic clothing.
5. The dress polygons are triangles.
--5.a. If this is an issue, let me know, I'll upload another .zip with square polys.
6. The files are fairly high poly, don't expect them to work well in older programs like Carrara.
7. The promo images were done after the file exports, so the wrinkles you see in the "T" pose promo image may/may not be present in the dress files.
--7.a. The "T" pose drape was done on a default Genesis 3 Female.  So, compared to the lovely Jada, the dress will be a bit larger overall.
8. If you use the dress in a render, please credit me here! (optional, but I'd like to see what you do with it :D (Big Grin) :D (Big Grin) :D (Big Grin))

Hope you enjoy the dress, and please let me see what you do with it! :D (Big Grin) Hug

That's a great job. I know what I will do today rigging, morphing and transform triangles into squares.

If you’re looking to use it with Daz dforce, I’ve uploaded a dforce version here: fav.me/dbunwti

Thank you very much. I tried with Daz, but it seems that I can use only the dark side of Dforce! Cause Daz crash down so many times that I had to give up. And it was the same result with Blender (too many polygons and also these evil triangles). I just manage to make the UV.

Hmmm...  So it seems Blender does not like triangles either.  I'll update my content with an .obj with square polys as well.  Thanks for the heads up.  Also, the contents of this download absolutely will not work in Daz.  I recommend downloading my dforce version.  Substantially fewer polys and they're already squares.  Rigged, too!

Being new to this, I am now going to learn more about importing .obj files into Daz. Thanks for helping push me further to learn more.

Hurray for further learning! :D

The beauty of dforce is that a LOT of Daz clothing items can be used as dynamic clothing, almost as is.  Some will require you "weld" some of the seams together to hold the item together...  If you're making .obj's for use as dforce clothing, I'd recommend using square polys with a poly count no greater than 10,000-20,000.  That's where I've had the best results.  Anything more than that doesn't seem to test well on my machine (regardless of poly type).

Great new dress my friend. What is the different between that one here and the one you have already uploaded?

This one is for Marvelous Designer and includes a .obj version.  I'll re-title here in a moment.
